Happy Birthday: Match Race Germany On jubilee course at the Whitsun festival under sail

Langenargen (March 29, 2017). In 63 days, the start-up match will be one of the largest sporting events in the Lake Constance region. Match Race Germany is celebrating its big anniversary in its home town Langenargen! For 20 years, the organizers, their team and their partners have set the Matchrace benchmark in Germany. With 30,000 and more spectators in sunny years, the Duellsegel-Festival is one of the most popular sailing sport events of the Republic. There are two good reasons for this: with the exciting duels, the sailing sport is modeled on America's Cup ufernah in its most exciting version. At the same time, the marina in the Langenargen gondola harbor will be entertained, informed and informed at the highest level. As a prelude regatta of the newly formed Match Race Super League in its premiere year, the Match Race Germany will continue to be one of the leading and co-shaping events in international matchracing on a hull.

World Champion and German Champion

While the "Notice of Race" for the Match Race Germany will be sent to skippers all over the world during these days, and the notification is only approaching in May, two German duel sailors have already set sail: Markus Wieser is one of the best German Matchracer course on Lake Constance. The 53-year-old Bavarian sailor, multiple kite world champion and big boat tactician comes to Langenargen with his regular crew. Wieser was able to win the Match Race Germany 2001 as the only German control man once, and with Jochen Schümann even beat Germany's most successful sailors of the sporting history in the final. In addition to Wieser, the team will start the German Matchrace champion Max Gurgel from Hamburg under German flag in the 20th Match Race Germany.
